Abstract
A few years ago, by using the theory of relative information, the author has obtained a family of probability-possibility conversion formulae. This result is herein used to get new approaches to some topics of approximate reasoning in the framework of fuzzy set theory. A membership function is equivalent to the pair (probability, fuzziness coefficient), therefore a new concept of membership entropy; and a fuzzy set is considered simultaneously with its complement
