Abstract :
An analytical solution for the torque and power of a solid-rotor two-pole three-phase slotless induction motor is presented. The field excitation is a current layer placed at the stator interior surface. The solution is based on an analytical solution of the diffusion equation in the complex domain. In addition, a generalized form of Poynting´s theorem is derived, which helps determine how the power entering the rotor is divided into mechanical power and that of Joule´s losses. Finally, the classical form of torque-speed function is derived.
