Abstract :
Previous work on the validation of the transmission-line modelling (TLM) numerical modelling technique is further developed to investigate cavity backed apertures with inhomogeneous dielectric loading. To ensure general use, any method adopted for modelling such systems needs to be simple and generally applicable-TLM is such a method. This paper uses TLM to predict the performance of a cavity with a small amount of dielectric `tuning´ and compares the results to those obtained from experimental studies. Good agreement is obtained
