  • Abstract
    When a circular patch is short-circuited at its center with a concentric conducting post, the resonant frequency of the patch TM01 mode is shifted to a non-zero value, becoming useful for radiation purposes. We use the cavity model to derive the essential behaviour of this mode and demonstrate two practical applications: a circular patch without substrate and a narrowband rotary-joint
