Abstract
The aim of this paper is to compare the information consumption differences between urban and rural residents in the period of 2000-2007 in China from the aspects of coefficient, marginal propensity and composition of information consumption. The research indicates that information consumption of urban and rural residents has made rapid increases in the period of 2000-2007 and the rural residents had higher marginal propensity of information consumption than the rural residents and the gap of it was large.
