Abstract
Access transport networks are proposed for multimedia communications services, especially five-layer network architecture for intelligent multimedia services. In the proposed architecture, it is very important to develop the distributed cooperative problem solving protocol wherein agents exchange their knowledge and negotiate with each other. The distributed cooperative interprocess communication mechanism is proposed
