JaPak IEOU: Japan-Pakistan´s Input English Output Urdu a case sensitive standard input system for Perso-Arabic script clients

Writing Urdu on computers and handheld widgets is an intricate job. This paper proposes a solution for that through a novel input system for fast and easy composing of Urdu using Western QWERTY keyboard. The case-sensitive mapping recommended in this article is unambiguous thus more appropriate for higher layer tasks such as transliteration, particularly reverse transliteration etc. It is also helpful to foreign students in learning Urdu. JaPak IEOU input system, which we propose, can run on a small CPU with little memory. It can be extended to other regional Perso-Arabic script languages as well. It is easy to adapt and quick to learn thus expected to be adopted by major proportion of users in rural regions where Perso-Arabic languages are in use.
