Abstract
Yager and Kelman (1996) suggested to control the choice of the combination operations which are used, in data fusion, on the basis of the existing relationship between the estimates which are to be fused. For instance, we may want to compute the average of two estimates only if they are close enough. The aim of the paper is to develop fuzzy arithmetic tools for the practical computation of such fuzzily constrained combination of fuzzy numbers
