Abstract
Convincing results that quantify the feasibility of the Digital European Cordless Telecommunications system (DECT) in support of many interactive data communication services for wireless access to local area networks (LANs) are presented. The performance of typical LAN applications such as file transfer, remote terminal login and electronic mail are studied and show that DECT is capable of supporting such services on a single 32-kb/s duplex time slot
