Abstract
This paper presents a design and implementation of DSP-based variable structure controller (VSC) for an induction motor (IM) fed by a voltage source inverter (VSI). By using VSC with a load torque observer, one can drastically get rid of the chattering problem under the improved control performance. Furthermore, this paper employs the space vector modulation (SVM) method and intelligent power module (IPM) to address high performance IM drive. Also, the SVM technique is implemented to minimize hardware configuration along with DSP software operation
