  • Abstract
    A synchronous voltage regulator is proposed to control an actively clamped resonant DC link inverter (ACRDCLI). These kinds of voltage regulators have many advantages and were mostly proposed to control AC motor drives. Good steady-state characteristics independent of either slip or operating frequency and avoiding measurement of motor parameters are among many advantages. A discrete current controller used as an internal loop guarantees control of inverter output instantaneous peak current and avoids overload problems. Simple implementation is proposed to control an RDCL inverter. A lot of research is still proceeding on robust control adequate for the given topology of resonant link inverters because of their better performance than conventional voltage source inverters, lower EMI, fast response and high switching frequency. The behaviour of the whole system is presented and verified by experimental results
