Abstract :
Elder population and chronic illness patience suffers from the lacking of self-care capabilities which can result in undesirable incidence. For example falls and theft invasion. The Home Healthcare and Security System is designed to protect the welfare of the elderly and the chronic illness patience. Nevertheless, the obvious security system requires the recording function to run for 24 hours then the recorded clips is saved in a tapes viewed by the operator to review the house conditions. This consumes a large amount of memory and human resources are needed to maintain and send the recorded clip the law enforcement body in case the break-in has previously occurred. In addition, they often stay alone in result that others weren´t notified if anything abnormal happened to them. There were cases that the elderly was found dead in their own home after attacked by falls or disease (heart attack, stroke or others) without timely rescue. The outcome is to design and develop a home safety monitoring system that enable the elderly or chronically ill to stay independently in their own home with care facilities. Besides, the memory capacity and the energy saving are also the consideration of the system.
