Abstract :
An approach for control and monitoring of discrete event systems has been developed. In this paper an extension of this approach based on an information system is proposed. The general architecture of the structure is first presented. Then, the whole operation of the structure is discussed. The information system is used not only for control purposes but also for monitoring ones. Its use to refine a diagnosis conclusion is explained. A management center ensures all the interactions between the control and monitoring structure and the information system. The major types of communications are also identified
