Abstract :
This paper presents the modeling of quasi 24-pulse STATCOM operation and control on ATP-EMTP. The principle for simulation of phase locked loop, measurement system and firing angle control are derived and presented. The quasi 24-pulse STATCOM is applied to the power system voltage regulation. The closed loop control for STATCOM was simulated with TACS. The simulation results show faster dynamic performances and acceptable harmonic characteristics.
