Abstract
The submarine cables laid in the sea area where fishery is active, are usually buried in the seabed. However, sufficient burial depth cannot be achieved in areas with strong current due to less sedimentary layer for burial availability. The authors have developed a “Fall Pipe Rock Dumping System”, capable of protecting the submarine power cables laid between the water depth of up to 165m and have implemented protection work on two submarine power cables (Length: 105km) between Jindo and Jejudo, Korea. We hereby introduce the whole system and the examples from the actual construction work.
