Abstract
As the market is changing more rapidly, a corporation is required to speed up the rollout of new products within the shortest time to capture market shares. In order to meet the demand for diverse and small quantity production, a corporation needs to spend much effort on selecting the appropriate vendor for cutting product design time as well as enhancing the production capability and cost competitiveness. This paper aimed to establish a method of tasks assignment for vendor selection based on grey decision making. Based on the manufacturing process characteristics of work-in-process and machinery production load, the paper defined the machinery production load relational matrix. By applying the grey relational analysis to measure the matrix´s grey relational grade, in terms of which we can establish the evaluation guideline of tasks assignment for vendor selection. Finally, a case study on interpretation for this method application was put forward in this paper. Research result shows that this method can provide valuable information in assigning production tasks to the appropriate vendor.
