Abstract :
Japan Agency for Marine Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) has started a new project “submarine resource research project” in April 2011. We decided to advance the development of work class Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) applied for submarine resource exploration. Its construction started in April 2011 and its will be completed in March 2013. This paper describes about the outline of the development of new ROV (vehicle, development codename is “NEPTUNE”) by using advanced technology and its equipment.
