Abstract
By experiment and computation, a radial impeller and a forward-skewed impeller are studied in interal flow filed. Detailed flow measurement and computation was performed at outlet flow field. The results show compared with radial rotor blade, the forward rotor blade can cause a spanwise redistribution of flow toward the blade mid-span and reduce tip loading. This results in reduced significantly total pressure loss near hub and shroud endwall region of forward rotor blade, despite the slight increase of total pressure loss at mid-span.
