Abstract
Link adaptation techniques have recently been proposed as an efficient method of obtaining high quality of service for mobile communication systems. These schemes aim to utilize the channel capacity compared to fixed transmission schemes. This paper illustrates the performance of adaptive modulation under generalized selection combining (GSC) system. On the other hand, the paper illustrates the relation between the efficiency of adaptive modulation system and the complexity of the implementation of such system. Different practical scenarios are presented where in each scenario the bit error rate (BER), and the spectral efficiency (SE) are presented.
