Abstract :
This paper proposes an applicable method calculating telluric current. As the frequency of geomagnetic induced current(GIC) is very low, the electromagnetic field inducing the current can be considered quasi-stationary field, thus it´s possible to analyse telluric current from the perspective of eddy current field. And finite element method can be used for computing. When the telluric current is given, we can easily obtain geoelectric field, which is the first step for calculating GIC in a power network.
