Abstract
The reality-close presentation and processing of knowledge become increasingly routine and popularity in the educational and corporate training markets. Using the technologies and delivering systems of the World Wide Web, the Internet and local intranets, web-based environments improve the advantages of computer-based environments by avoiding the social isolation of the learner. By delivering in real-time, multimedia and hypermedia courseware applications facilitate the learners anywhere at any time providing a wide network communication. Dealing with this matter, the proposed paper describes important guiding principles for shaping virtual learning spaces targeted to engineering educational activities. It points out the significance of designing hypermedia contents for web-based applications with virtual reality components and interactivity features, which support event synchronizations and dynamic course changes of scenarios by user interactions.
