Abstract
This paper describes a new measurement method of ship-side wave profiles by using electro-conductive paint. The purpose of developing this system is to measure wave profiles accurately and conveniently without any disturbance on wave field. We investigate its applicability for model ship experiments. The experimental results using the model ship show good agreement with those by image processing. This method is also applicable to the measurements of wave profile, draft and trim of actual ship.
