Abstract :
This study aimed to interpret the thermal and pressure drop characteristics of plate heat exchangers for determining geometric design parameters such as the channel space. In this study, the heat transfer performance was analyzed numerically with respect to the flow pattern and channel space. The numerical analysis results indicated that the j factor decreased linearly with the flow rate in every case. The j factor decreased linearly as the flow increased within the channel space. The f factor decreased linearly when the mass flow rate was increased. The f factor was constant with the flow rate for every case. When the flow increased within the channel space, the f factor was found to remain constant.
