Abstract :
An integrated circuit approach is presented for ensuring soft switching operations in boundary-mode buck converters. This technique, accomplished by integrated circuitry, can automatically track the soft switching point without taking energy storage components into account. This control concept may be applied to boost and buck-boost converters as well. Circuit design and simulation results for an example circuit with VIN 5 V and VOUT 1.2 V are shown.
