  • Abstract
The exact measurement of thiophene and CS2 in coking benzene is very difficult. In this paper, a novel and convenient method for measuring compounds containing-sulfur in benzene solution is studied by GC-FPD. The peak area of benzene and its volume is firstly associated, and then standard curves between the peak area of thiophene and CS2 and their amounts were respectively made. The injection volumes of thiophene and CS2-benzene solution is corrected by the peak area of benzene and then the concentrations of thiophene and CS2 in benzene solution can be exactly calculated. This method is validated by the known concentration thiophene-CS2-benzene solution and the results show that the relative error was less than 4%. So it can be used for the analysis of both thiophene and CS2 in coking benzene in once measurement.
