Abstract
A method for synchronization of broadband bit streams is described. It provides: alignment of octets in one step, avoiding shift operations in the serial-parallel conversion; cell delineation; shortest resynchronization time; and easy board layout by avoiding timing constraints. The method provides the best synchronization performance for ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) applications
