Abstract
In this presentation we discuss a simple model of a half-duplex wireless digital link, which is mostly intended to highlight the antenna performance and the effect of antenna bandwidth on the data rate and bit error rate. The model is based on ASK modulation, envelope detector receiving circuit, and the RS232 serial port protocol. The advantage of this model is that its start-up version may be wired using the standard EE lab kit. Software support includes Borland C++ Compiler (available through Internet) and two relatively short C++ program codes. Further development includes using a low-noise amplifier, circuit layout, and higher data rates.
