Abstract :
Polarimetric radars provide a complete information on the scattering matrix of observed targets. In remote sensing applications, where the targets are random, the Stokes parameters and associated Mueller matrix are the most used tools. Among the various methods proposed for extracting the information, the target vector and its associated covariance matrix appear quite promising. It is applied in this article to data collected over the Freibourg test site, with the JPL airborne SAR, during the MAESTRO campaign of 1989 in Europe.
