Abstract :
One of the main goals is the evaluation of remote sensing methods in analysis of mesoscale variability of sea surface parameters. Special attention was paid for establishing the correlation between hydrological parameters (measured from ship) on the one hand and dynamics of the ocean upper layer on the other hand. The features of surface dynamic topography in the gradient zones of the Sea of Okhotsk are investigated using altimeter data. The altimeter and AVHRR data are compared with in situ measurements of dynamic topography and surface temperature. The connection between the dynamic topography and SST signatures of the same phenomena is investigated. The methodology is implemented for estimation of fish concentration. The analysis data included the detailed investigation of fishery areas in the Sea of Okhotsk by means of hydrological, hydrochemical, hydrobiological surveying made from a ship. The remote sensing part of the investigation included the collection of TOPEX-POSEIDON altimeter and NOAA AVHRR data
