Abstract :
Several emission models (coherent and incoherent) of stratified soil are compared. A regression analysis is developed in order to qualify the comparison of simulated results to a complete set of measured brightness temperatures (several frequencies, observation angles and dual polarizations). Further studies are devoted to the inverse problem and will lead to the retrieval of soil moisture content from radiometric measurements
