Abstract :
Remotely sensed soil moisture distribution was employed to derive initial conditions to a physically-based hydrologic model. A comparison of simulated time series of watershed average soil moisture and observations indicated that for dry soil moisture conditions the remotely sensed data can be used as a model updating tool
