Abstract :
A description is given of the ELINT (electronic intelligence) Expert Tutor, which trains novice analysts by combining the technologies of expert systems, authoring systems, and simulations to evaluate the knowledge of new trainees and teach the difficult fundamentals of radar theory and ELINT analysis. It can be used by instructors and trainees with no computer experience and can serve as a powerful and interesting training tool in any discipline. The major functional areas supported are: (1) knowledge evaluation, (2) general analyst training, (3) equipment familiarization, (4) application-specific training, and (5) system tools. The system currently resides on a graphics workstation and is compatible with existing government analysis systems
