Abstract :
An effective system for measuring optical detector bandwidth has been established using the heterodyne detection method utilizing tow DFB-LDs. By controlling the LD temperature, the measurable bandwidth can be extended to beyond several tens GHz without any additional calibration. Included are a comparison of bandwidth measurement methods, features of the developed measurement system, and the measurement results.
