Abstract
An accurate method is put forward to determine the value of inductor loaded on a short off-center loaded dipole. The method treats an antenna under optimization as a multiport system. By tuning several of its ports with lump load, the antenna´s performance at a specific frequency can be ameliorated. In order to acquire an accurate impedance matrix, the traditional method of moments is improved by introducing a more smooth basic function, Gauss-Legendre quadrature and extended integral kernel. Considering the impedance matching network, a new principle for easy matching has been set. The new method was verified by the fabricated four short dipoles, resonated at 30 MHz, 35 MHz, 40 MHz and 45 MHz respectively. Because of its simplicity, the method is very time efficient.
