Abstract :
A modified genetic algorithm (GA) is used to design plate end-fire-antennas. Six kinds of new plate end-fire antennas with ten monopoles each have been designed, in which the parasitic monopoles and broadband structure have been used. Compared with the antenna designed by the Hansen-Wood yard condition, the feeding characteristics of the antennas have been improved remarkably and then the gain has been increased accordingly, while the directivity of the antennas with new structure has been kept at the same level.
