Abstract
Hebei province is the main one of energy production and energy consumption, the steady and plenteous supply of coal is the foundation of regional economic sustainable development. The coal resources and other energy resources in Hebei province are relative shortage which has resulted in a serious energy security issues. This paper analyzed the problems and challenges of coal exploitation and utilization in Hebei province, especially the lack of effective supply capacity coal resources, mining reserve shortage, unreasonable industrial structure and low energy efficiency. Based on the above, the policies and recommendations of coal development strategy are proposed, and it is emphasized that the key tasks are strengthening coal geological exploration, optimizing the energy structure and industrial structure to reduce unit energy consumption in Hebei province.
