Abstract :
In the present paper, a framework for structuring requirements for graphical user support in distributed environments is proposed. This framework is based on the notion of information and knowledge (I/K) spaces. A particular I/K space consists of information and knowledge that various agents require to perform tasks. Five categories of requirements are described, i.e., information, presentation, navigation, performance, and migration requirements. On the basis of these requirements, an architecture is proposed. This architecture is illustrated by describing the architecture of a prototype of a graphical user support system for distributed environments
