Abstract :
This paper presents an approach to the design of a high-performance controller for SISO processes with input time delays. An adaptive fuzzy logic controller incorporating a Smith predictor is designed to maintain performance during process changes. Supervisory functions are added to the adaptive control system to provide a degree of intelligence and a man-machine interface for complex control situations. The paper gives simulation results to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach
