Abstract
The leaky cables, such as the leaky coaxial cable and leaky circular waveguide, are capable of distributing much smoother radio wave coverage than the discrete antenna system. However, when the leaky cables are used in the urban mass transit, they might be influenced by the extremely bad weather, especially for the low temperature and accumulated snow. In this paper, the influences of snow coverage with different volumetric wetness and different temperature on the near field distributions and the radiation characteristics of the leaky coaxial cable and leaky circular waveguide are simulated and analyzed. It is valuable to the design of the leaky cables.
