  • Abstract
    By means of the concepts of ATM network, network management and artificial intelligence, we design a knowledge-based system for ATM network management. The designed system includes two modules: network monitor and network control. In our research, the SNMP-based network monitor and knowledge-based network control are main essences. At the same time, for achieving the real-time requirement in implementation, the two modules are executed repeatedly under OpenView SNMP platform. To validate the feasibility of the proposed system, an ATM-based network is tested. The experimental results were found that the designed knowledge-based system is benefit to managers in ATM network management
