Abstract :
In order to solve the CO removing problem in fuel cell technology using hydrogen as resource, the method of selective methanation is adopted to remove CO in hydrogen-rich atmosphere. Ni~ZrO2/SiO2 catalyst were prepared by sol-gel method and its activity is investigated. The effect of preparation conditions including NiO loadings and calcination temperature on catalytic activity is investigated in hydrogen purification. The results indicates that NiO loadings and the content of ZrO2 significantly influence the performance of Ni~ZrO2/SiO2 catalyst. When reaction temperature at 260°C, CO can be reduced to 0ppm, selectivity of H2 on CO is over 99%. It can fully meet the need of hydrogen requirements of proton exchange membrane fuel cell.
