Abstract :
This study investigated the effects of dissolved oxygen (DO) and reflux ratio on the performance of nitrogen removal in a lab-scale bio film-A/O reactor. Results showed that higher DO and reflux ratio was favorable for nitrification in aerobic reactor, but was adverse for denitrification in anaerobic reactor. Under optimal DO concentration of 4 mg/Land sludge reflux ratio of 200%, the bio film-A/O reactor exhibited excellent nitrogen removal performance with NH3-N and total nitrogen removal efficiency up to 95% and about 80%, respectively.
