Abstract
Against a background of existing courseware-texts, syllabi, and some media materials, the author surveys several needs and speculative possibilities for new teaching materials and approaches for technological literacy courses. The qualifications include the need for good teaching teams, including interdisciplinary teams, with `good´ defined in terms of the ability to meet nonengineering students´ special needs. Future possibilities surveyed include more and better case studies, some of them in film or video format, distance teaching (e.g., with an interactive TV approach), and educational packages
