Abstract
A pilot program between the University of Maryland, College Park, (UMD) and the University of the W. Indies (UWI) is described. Novel technologies which US universities might share with the Caribbean are discussed as are areas in which the Caribbean might contribute to US universities. A critical piece of this exchange would be the use of satellite telecommunications systems. A brief overview of the successful use of satellite delivery of continuing engineering education in the US is followed by a short description of the continuing education programs at both UMD and UWI
