Abstract :
This paper describes an explanation system for the simulation results of the regional socio-economic simulation model (referred to as OURS model). The explanation procedure is divided into the following three phases; (1) retrieve the data with specified characteristics of changes by directly using the human´s fuzzy language; (2) analyse the cause of changes, based on the quantitative estimating formulas, the qualitative relation and the various kinds of exogenous parameters of the model, and calculate its contribution rate; and (3) explain the causes, according to the knowledge base including the model structure and the experience of the experts, define flexibly and generate the explanation statement for the cause of changes. Through the application of this system to the representative examples, it has been confirmed that the simulation results can be explained easily
