Abstract :
Summary form only given. The laser spectroscopic imaging of species in the gas phase is expected to be a very powerful diagnostics technique to investigate the behavior of the species. However, the infrared imaging of species in a flame and plasma has suffered from a luminous background due to a lack of a fast-gated and intensified imaging devices such as an image intensifier. In order to overcome the problem, a new imaging system for the species in the gas phase has been developed. We describe the demonstration of the imaging system and discuss the fidelity and the spatial resolution of the up-converted images.
