Abstract :
The authors describe a computer-aided instruction (CAI) system which supports electronic circuit designs using measured active device data from a curve tracer. This CAI is divided into two stages. First, quiescent characteristics of a BJT are measured by the curve tracer and stored in files. Then a student designs basic circuits using these data. The computer evaluates his designs and points out wrong designs. Using this CAI system, students understand the relation between the quiescent characteristics curve and the basic amplifier design
