Abstract
The industrial information processed in an enterprise is a complex datum. An information and decision system (IDS) must take this complexity into account and control it. We believe that this complexity may be controlled if all the industrial information factors are controlled one by one and if the coherence between all factors are preserved. We propose to represent this information in four main facets: 1) data describing the different entities handled by the IDS and the actions that they can perform or be subjected to; 2) temporal properties of the different kinds of processes, including traceability of information; 3) the organisation considered through information flows; and 4) the economic facet which describes the means of performance appraisal in relation to the enterprise environment and objectives. The OLYMPIOS model presented is a methodology to construct the IDS of a class of operators in a particular enterprise. It covers the different stages of such a system life-cycle, and proposes original solutions for analysis, specification, design and realization
