Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. With the development of new tools for symbolic and numerical processing on workstations, engineering students can now perform complex design cycles very fast and efficiently. This new capability is equivalent to the `what-if´ capability that spreadsheets introduced to financial calculations. Concepts can be readily tested and the impact of design decisions quickly evaluated. When used as concept visualization tools, these programs can aid in the process of computer-aided education. Overall, these programs bring the author to a new level of possibilities in education, with the simulation of large concepts and the visualization of complex phenomena
