Abstract
Summary form only given. We use four-wave mixing to illustrate the dramatic improvements possible. Theory predicts 14% conversion efficiency for 10 mW (peak) pump power under realizable conditions. Experiment shows, even in a lossy GaAs-AlGaAs microring, a 26 dB conversion improvement over a straight waveguide of the same length as the ring perimeter, in good agreement with theory.
